I'm brewing stout and the satellite fermenter has developed a thin layer of white stuff and there is some brown stuff on top of that layer. I see the yeast working and there are lots of bubble coming up. The actual fermenter has been bubbling in the airlock for 3 days, and has slowed since the second day. How can I tell if there is mold and is it safe to drink if moldy?

If everything has been perfectly sterilised then no mould should have got into your beer.

Mould won't hurt if you drink it afterall penicillin is a form of mould.

Sounds like a bottled fermented refrigerated drink I purchased at a upscale health food store. It tasted as bad as it smelled even though label touted it's virtues.
