A old old friend visited me, and he and I had a heated discussion on if high school wasen't the real world. He still beleives it is, I know it isn't. He's still in High School, so he dosen't know much about the real world. Do you guys have any good points I can come up with, to convince him.

High School is way different than the "real world". In High School, you are still immature. You're growing up and being prepared to enter the "Real World". In High School, you aren't left alone...ever. You are given much much more freedom, but you are still on a leash. Simply ask your friend this question: Do you need a pass to use the bathroom in the "Real World"?

The real world is larger than the 450 people that you graduate with (or whatever the number is...my class was 450). In the real world, no one is going to care if you were voted the Prom Queen/King or Homecoming Queen/King or if you were the most popular, least popular, short, tall, fat, thin, etc. The real world doesn't have the cliques that high schools do. The real world is also not going to care about your home life, illnesses you might have or anything else that affect your ability to learn or perform your job...and neither will the landlord, mortgage company, electric company, light company, etc.

High School is one real world. Post-High School is another real world.
Post-HS no one gives you 3 warnings. You're just in trouble.
Post-HS you are the one who is responsible for structuring your day - not the school

True maturity only comes with time and age and adolescents deo not yet have either in high school. Trust me. I've been there.
