The teacher wants me to choose something that will not require research since that will be a different essay. Everything I keep thinking of I think that does not require research is stupid, like Halloween vs. Christmas, winter vs. summer, being a mother vs. being a father.

Any more decent suggestions?

Thanks!

My son did an essay similar to this and he chose dogs vs. cats as pets.He got an A on it. He listed pros and cons of each, such as cats do not bark, but they are aloof. Dogs can go on walks and guard the house, but require more attention and do not usually use a litter box. Anyway, you get the gist of this. Good luck!

Almost anything works.....democracy v. socialism, jello v. pudding, cats v. dogs. It seems your teacher wants to see your form, how well you write. The subject then would not matter one bit. In fact comparing Jif to Peter Pan may better allow them to access your writing ability than a written work on a more serious topic.
