There is no easy way to break off with someone who loves you. But there are bad ways to break up, and that is by phone or by letter, in other words do it in person. Your boyfriend deserves the respect of being given his chance to say what he needs to, to understand why.. and so forth. Just be straight forward and kind.

say it to him directly and dont be rash add things like we can still be friends and try to make him feel better if some thing goes wrong.
