Interesting question...
I'm kinda in the same situation where I had a crush on a girl about 2 months ago, but couldn't get her. I've now decided I'm not going to try and get her cause she doesn't seem to be a good match for me (she smokes, she is very naive, easily influenced by others). The desire is still there, cause I like the girl for the same reasons for which I was attracted to her before.
So I think the desire is always there unless you're not true to yourself and somehow convince yourself that she isn't that great and think "I don't know what I liked so much about her, she isn't that big a deal." But I try to be honest with myself as much as I can.
I hope this answered your question. Bye!

I think that the desire fades once u move on and find someone who is more attractive. Of course when u hear the voice or see the face of a person who u once wanted to be with it brings back feelings. Not feelings that represent your desire for her but feelings that remind u of what u used to think of her even if u don't anymore. It's like when u see something that or do something that u hadn't for years u start to think "I remember when I did this or that." It's the same thing. Just old memories.

I told her I am not that kind of person I am kind of person respect you... she have boyfriend for 14 years now and 3 kids and I am married and we have 3 kids... and often time she does feel wish that it was different but now knowing that the desire is always there for the chance but never made... so It hard and it sad... so we still become best friend no matter what.

honestly the desire will probably always be there but depends on how you control it ya know i mean you can never say there wont be a chance cause youll least expect it and the chance is right in front of you thats my experience and its still good till this day from 3 years ago.....the bad desire will be there when u hear her voice see her her or even think of her ......depends on how u ho,d that desire so it doesnt ruin you......

i know this is for men..but sometimes it happens to women aswell..and i think it depends on how long you've had this desires..if something didnt end up happening.. i think that after a while you would get over it..since there are thing stopping you from things happening..eventually you'll just move on..

It would go away if you ever actually "had" her. The sweetness of the forbidden, unreachable fruit is always sweeter than the time you actually get to bite into it, and the memories surrounding the time the fruit juice was actually running down your cheek.
