I'm in school to get my Bachelors in Science in Nursing to be an R.N. There is a girl who I really like but does not see herself going anywhere in 5 years. Do you think she expects someone to maintain her?

Okay, I just don't want someone who will just cling on me. She doesn't have to work I just want to see her atleast try but she claims that she has no desire to go to school. I guess I just answered my own question. Thanks guys. Single life is a real B*I*T*C*H!!

No, for the most part people don't need to have someone take care of them. If you're in a trusting relationship and love each other, there should be no problems or misconceptions on what will go on. I will say this - if she gives any clues towards not doing anything at all and just soaking up your extra cash, then she's not for you. I'm also in the medical field and work a lot of shifts. The last thing you need is to have someone that doesn't appreciate and respect what you do enough to contribute to the relationship.

Good luck with school and the relationship!!

Well, do you want a big family with a mom that stays at home to raise them? Do you want kids at all? Do you envision your life filled with stuff and trips or a more down to earth relationship. If you ultimately want a partner who's work is important to them then perhaps this is not the choice for you. I personally would give it a little more time....she could have meant something different or been having a bad time or feeling discouraged.

She may not have figured out what she wants to do with herself just yet, but sometimes women can be inspired to be someone productive in this world by the love of a good man. I am a major in criminal Justice-my man is a law enforcement guy, but he never finished college. But seeing what he does gives me ideas for the career I would like to have for myself and I owe it to him for being my sunshine to inspire me. I will say though that I already had a mentality to make money and he did too-so I think maybe you ought to consider dating women who are working for themselves because those women who do have an obvious high self esteem and women who do not want anything out of life are clingers to men and bad ex boyfriends because they lack self worth and a usefulness in life.

I am a nurse too. She has low self esteem and wants you to validate it for her. I think that you can do much better, you both have a career for life. If she can't see that then there is something wrong!

i think she is unmotivated to work towards career fulfillment because she havent found her passion yet. try encouraging her to explore the various professions available at your city, it doesnt have to be the conventional 9-5 job...
