i have a formal party coming up that i really wanted to attend but i was diagnosed with strep throat a couple of days ago... I feel much better now all the symptoms are pretty much gone (i do have to take the antibiotics for about a week still) I was wondering if drinking alcohol would hurt the recovery from strep throat at all? i mean i know it's not going to make me feel better, but what about the actual killing of the strep bacteria etc? thanks alot

Strep throat is contagious! You shouldn't be going to the party at all!

Of course you can go drinking, however, if you do so while taking your antibiotics it will cause the antibiotics you took that day not to work but at least the drink will take away the pain of the strep throat. The alcohol won't kill the bacteria. Hope you get better soon.

LORD Y you need a little splash just in order to keep mental health.
If you can't have a dash of the elixer of life get another anitbodic and divorce that DR.
PS don't stick your toung in anyones mouth strep is not an airborn bacteria. 'schmit" (dung) we would all have weekly.

Know the asteroid wellhead tonsil stones them for many years and it's been title not eventually.

Best decision I've ever made! I was shocked by the way of getting out the stones out. It was so easy, but more importantly, painless. I really liked the little trick he had for preventing gag reflex. He have one happy customer here.

alcohol neutralises the effect of most antibiotics. In the case of the a/b's it doesn't neutralise, the combination will make you very ill and will wish that hadn't drunk alcohol. It's your health though! There'll always be other parties, you've only got one body.

If its liquor then it will kill SOME of the bacteria and burn like hell. But if you drink beer, then the yeast will infect the area with the strep bacteria, so DO NOT drink beer, you'll be the sorriest you've ever been! lol
