Fortunately, withdrawing cold turkey off caffeine isn't so bad as cold turkey off other stuff.

Caffeine affects specific receptors in the brain and when those receptors are deprived of the caffeine, they cause some reaction. This is the definition of physical addiction. Usually you will only have headaches of various severity for two days and then you are away from the addiction. Of course having caffeine again will re-trigger the addiction.

i think it is possible to be addicted to anything, there is a difference between physical and psychological addiction though, i believe caffeine addiction is a little of both, as withdrawal can cause headaches and maybe even some depression, i drink lots of caffeine everyday and i find it hard to quit... green tea would be a good way to try to quit.. as it has caffeine but is also very good for you and you can find some with low levels of caffeine to gradually stop drinking caffeine with something healthy

Yes. From the moment you first have caffeine your body becomes addicted. When you don't maintain it you get headaches and body aches and even a bad attitude from the withdrawls. This would be the reason caffeine has been labeled a drug by the FDA.

It is definitely possible, and it is NOT a harmless addiction. Enough caffeine can constrict blood vessels and dehydrate you, potentially encouraging blood clots. If heart attacks run in your family, it's best to limit your caffeine intake because of this.

Being hooked to anything is a self choice. The only thing that will stops you when your doctor will say that, if you did stop that your chance of recovery is nil. Just like a smoker who was detected with a lung cancer.

yes... but it is a harmless, if not beneficial, addiction.

The worst part is, if you ingest caffeine through coffee, your teeth get stained and depending on how much coffee your drink, you might get acid build up in your stomach.
