I am looking for anyone who has info on this old company which was in Farmingdale NY. My grandfather whom I never met worked with them and was 'affiliate' with the FBI. I can't find ANY info on him through the FBI, so I am hoping to try other channels. Anyone know anyone that worked here or knows of this place? Is there anyway to get a list of workers for this company from the 50's-60's? My grandfather introduced the 'welding of aluminum' for this company. ANY info is greatly appreciated!

I know nothing personally about Republic Aviation, but was able to discover this page on Wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Republic_Aviation_Company
From what I can tell, all that remains of Republic Aviation is their runways, which is now Republic Airport.

Good Luck !

Hi, I think you are looking for the company that became Fairchild aviation, which built the A-10, and is now out of business, Sikorsky aviation, which was re-named Republic when he was let go, built the P-47, but I do not know if they had a fabrication plant in or around Farmingdale, they very well might have, as Grumman was a extremely large producer of A/C for the navy in 40-90's time frame. I would look under Sikorsky (use p-47 as search) and look for related links, remember, often A/C components were manufactured all over the country, then sent to a final "assembly factory" good luck!

I just searched it on Google and came up with a couple of good places but no workers/employees that I saw.

Check this out pretty informative and looks like they do have a lot of knowledge and maybe they can help you if you contact them.
