Alright, I'm in high school, and this friend of mine, who I like, is having a birthday soon. I'm not sure if she likes me or not....there are a lot of signs, but....it's a long story. We're not too close yet (but getting closer) so I think I'll just get her a card. I'm gonna write some funny stuff in it, but I was also thinking of writing about how I'm glad I'm getting to know her, and how she's a really great person blah blah blah you get the idea. Good idea or bad? How would you react if one of your male friends gave you a card like this? I mean, I want to subtly let her know that I like her, but I don't want to seem creepy and scare her away, you know?

Hi! im in ninth grade, and think thats a great idea. i would be delighted if a guy friend of mine wrote such a heartfelt note. i wouldnt find it creepy at all, and i think its a great way to sublty let her know that you like her. a sweet birthday card from a friend would mean a lot to any girl:)

I'm thinking just write the "funny stuff"... save the "how I'm glad I'm getting to know her, and how she's a really great person blah blah blah you get the idea" for the next card...this way if things change between u 2 then u can modify ur tactics to better fit the situation... good luck :-)

As a girl, I would be overjoyed at it ... as long as I didn't like someone else. You might want to personally give her the card or make sure she opens it away from everyone else, because if she starts laughing, everyone will want to read it which in turn, they will read your message ... high school is tough, that is where I am now, but everyone is going through the same problems ... go for it if you feel like it is the thing to do!

I think that is a really nice thing to do. Just don't get all mushy or something, she'll get a little weirded out. Just stay cool and everything will fall into place.
