My five-year-old was given tablet-style medicine which would normally be swallowed whole by adults. The doctor recommended that we crush it up and stir it into applesauce. But she's having trouble eating it and thinks it tastes really gross. Any suggestions?

Can you give it to her in the applesauce without crushing it., then followup with her favorite drink?

My daughter takes her meds with applesauce and if it is too large, I break it in half, but NOT crush it. Crushing it will make it taste more bitter.

Good luck.

My Dr. just suggested this for my son. Try placing a mini m&m on the back of the tongue. At the same time offer the child a drink through a flex straw. Again, this needs to be done at the same time so it will take practice. However, according to her, the straw on the tip of the tongue will make the brain forget about the m&m on the back and the child will swallow it. The candy is just for practice and if it should get stuck it will melt. After several times move onto your pill. Best of luck!!

Seven 12 months olds are not above bribery. Do what you like and say what you may as a fashion to get her cooperation. optimistically she would not want drugs all that oftentimes, yet whilst she does you may make an extremely huge deal approximately how grown up she's performing. My son was once unfavorable at taking drugs yet now would not supply me any hardship in any respect. I used to bribe him and and supply him particular treats if he cooperated. I reported what a great boy he's and how he's so clever listening to the popular practitioner. babies want a lot of constructive confirmation and probably concentrating on the constructive will help. greater durable reported then carried out, yet i'm particular in case you get inventive you will discover the your best option button on your daughter.
