What is the difference between the OEM & the "full version" of the Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium. Why such a price difference?? Is it not the OEM version that's installed into the new Computers ??

An OEM(original equipment manufacture) is basically designed for computer distributors and it does not come with the fancy packaging, basically you get charged a hole lot for a box in the "full version". Buying the OEM version is always a smart way to save a little money(or in this case a lot).

PS Vista does not as the man above me said contain many errors, the only reason people have problems with Vista is because they dont take the time to make sure that their computer meets the hardware requirements, I have Vista installed on 3 of my 6 machines so far and couldn't be happier! Go to microsoft.com and download the vista compatiablity check before you install. Vista just like all versions of Windows requires newer and specific hardware so that it is compatiable, otherwise you do have bugs and problems.

1. OEM is a hardware license that can't be moved from one hardware to another while you can do this with the retail version.
2. You may use your retail version for 2 computers & activate them both online while you can install the OEM on one computer only.

Steer well clear of Vista.

It is not yet matured and contains many errors.
