This story is Urban Legend, it wasn't a horse it was a mule and he never knocked it out. After watching the movie "Blazing Saddles" (1974) there was a scene where "Mongo" played by ex professional football player Alex Karras who played for Detroit, walks by a horse and punches it dropping it with a single shot. Duran, being as macho as they came summoned his friends to get the mule from down the street in neighborhood near the gym he was training at, well they brought the mule to Roberto and he punched it, nothing happened. Ray Arcel Duran's famed corner man talked about this in his interview with Sports Illustrated years later.
