I live in New Jersey. I would not recommend it to anyone. The cost of living is very high. Atlantic City is a shitehole except for the casinos who put nothing back into the city. The police, judges, prosecutors are corrupt. Don't even think of driving because you will get pulled over for anything and everything so the state can make money. Every where you go you will find a new shopping center being put in while the roads are not accomodating that much traffic. (this info is coming from a 47 year old professional woman...not a kid)

I live in Jersey and like everywhere, it has good and bad. Taxes, especially property, are out of control. This is why I never had plans to buy in Jersey. I'm actually soon moving to Florida. Weather sucks in the winter but I hate the cold and snow so I'd have a problem with everywhere except for Florida, Hawaii, or So Cal. You can't beat the diners in Jersey. They're everywhere and most are open 24 hours so it's great after the bars. Jersey probably has one of the worst cities in the nation in Camden. I've personally never been there but you don't have to go there to know how bad it is. One thing that definitely sucks is that you can't pump your own gas. You have to wait for the lazy SOB gas station worker get his *** of his cell phone and come over to pump your gas. Half the time I'll just do it myself anyway because they basically just suck. Northern Jersey/NY definitely has some of the best sports in the country. Nine pro sports, horse racing, minor league baseball. Can't beat it. I've lived here all my life (31 years), but it's time to move on. I need warm weather, palm trees, and the beach.

New Jersey is like a good restaurant ---- if it's crowded, it must be good. But, if you don't like dealing with the crowd .... you may not want to go there.

New Jersey is good as far as finding good paying jobs on all levels. Housing is plentiful and varied but, of course ..... the more you make, the more you pay.

I'll give you some of the other good points ... in my opinion .... because that's all it is.

I like the 4 seasons of New Jersey ..... not normally extreme in any season. And, we don't normally get the killer storms and floods that other states get. We have a varied landscape ..... not much in the way of mountains but ...hilly areas in the north and along the Delawae water gap .... and ... flat farmlands and pastures to the south. I like having a coastal area ----- the beaches provide a great area fo recreation. Being one of the early colonies ... New Jersey is rich in history ...... especially from the 1600s, 1700s and on .....

Variety, prosperity, history ---- New Jersey has all these things and more .

I also live in N.J. for 19yrs and hopefully not for much longer. I agree entirely with the artist, I drive thru 7 townships on my way to and from work "about 3 miles" each of which have 20 officers or better sitting in wait for the least infraction, oh! and did I mention the property taxes, the highest average in the continental U.S.

I live in NYC and on occassion have had to go to NJ. There is nothing there of interest. It is basically ugly sprawling suburbia, endless miles of low quality ("fast food") chain restaraunts and strip malls. Everything is spread out along major highways (Rt 3, RT 4 ,RT17 etc). There are only a few towns that have an actual downtown area where you might want to park the car and walk around and even in those areas everything closes very early. Since one must drive everywhere there is little in the way of bars or nitelife. Also driving in NJ is no picnic as NJ drivers are the most ignorant in the country, possibly only MA drivers are worse.(this is reflected in the high cost of insuring an automobile in NJ)
There is little in the way of culture in NJ except perhaps an occasional concert at the Meadowlands. Most people in NJ seeking cultural activities have to travel beyond their own metropolitan area to either NYC or Philadelphia.
The state is totally lacking in natural beauty. The beaches along the shore are not nice. They are overcrowded and developed right up to the waterline. The water is often dirty, most of the beaches are fenced in and access is limited to certain times of the day. Most activities are banned on the beach and you have to pay a fee to enter. There are no mountains in the state except for High point state park in Sussex county which is small and unremarkable.
There are also a lot of rednecks in NJ, but unlike rednecks elsewhere, Jersey rednecks won't admit they are rednecks rather they like to pretend they are urbane and they seem to have a complex about living in the shadow of NY. There are also a lot of ex NY'ers living in NJ who had to relocate since the couldn't afford to live anywhere in the NY Metro area. The rest of the state is made up of immigrants from third world countries.
Taxes are high in NJ and political corruption is rampant at all levels. NJ is not a good state to live in. It seems most people that live there want out and I can't say I blame them

Please don't moderate, people need to hear, free press. Awareness first step to correcting.
To see 100x more, lookup these with new Jersey, crime, organized crime, corruption in New Jersey, police misconduct brutality, terror, police 70x worse than any other, called NYC's garbage can (also phili).

Lots of hate groups. If you're white and have kids they'll go after you and might even form a new one, will see the text's flying, really don't go there. Have heard of hate groups from every people imaginable, Hispanic hate groups, black hate groups (police have also), jewish terror groups and even Korean hate groups, so many can't keep track. Local gov will only join in, not your friends, are in and on and use. These are bad and dangerous people, stay away.

Englewood, NJ is horrible, scary place. Statistics don't show everything. Tell people and children education is bad, their way. Say good or best and they'll question you and find out where you live. They attack people's children, schools are unsafe. Say like to hear when people suffer. Blacks attack white children to hurt them. Neighbors hope you get robbed and say like to hear and hope people and kids are abused and suffer. Bad to even go to stores. Police are scary and help any criminal they can, hope you don't run into. Fire department will try to break into your home and are dangerous. Judge has worst reputation for abusing people anywhere. These people are the kind you hope don't run into on a street corner, viscous and cruel, and will go after you if say anything about them, dangerous place. Never seen a place where you are lucky to get out and get away from.

Englewood is a bad unfriendly place, must have visited and talked to people. Schoold board thrown out because when fined by law to put heat and libraries in schools and feds would pay half, they refused and would lose the fed's $15 million. Refused to put heat and libraries in schools because they had kids in private schools and didn't want to pay taxes, what scum and this is agreed upon. Police have something 'wrong with them'. Say there to watch out for themselves not people, tell people this, don't care about women and children. Just out, Englewood police make 6 figures, over $100k per year, from overtime + ridiculous salary hurting people. The worse the police the more money them make (+ OT), so englewood police are the very worst in US.

Supply and demand. There is a reason why it is the most dense state in the nation. Overall it has to be the best :>

I grew up there. Fond memories..but I prefer California. It depends on the quality of life your looking for. More family orientated? Maybe the Midwest
