I think adding another track to the Cup series would be a bad thing. Season is too long now, in my opinion.
But that wasn't the question. So, to asnwer, if Denver or any other part of Colorado were to get a track, first off, I hope it isn't one of the cookie cutter tracks (Chicago, Kanas, Texas, Lowe's etc). A short track would be ok, but we have Bristol, Martinsville, and Richmond already. A Super would be ok too, but then, we have Indy, Daytona and 'Dega already. That's out. That leaves road courses.
I guess my answer is, if Colorado gets a track (which I hope not), it ought to be a road course. Or maybe even a street circuit, like the Champ Cars used to run in downtown Denver years ago. Actually, that would be the ONLY track type I would support at all. That might be fun to watch.

they used to have one in Colorado Springs. Pikes Peak International raceway but they shut it down. It hosted the Busch and Truck series. Also Champ car and Indy. Now they are proposing opening up one outside of Denver Airport. I hope that they dont. Colorado doesnt need it. It would only take another race away from the south. We already lost the southern 500 because a bunch of west coast people though it would be cool. Now they just lose money. I hope that if they do have a track in Denver they loose they're asses.

Definitely a hill climb type race. Hill climbs were an exciting type of road race yrs ago.
They were timed events with each driver starting at a different time. That would have to be changed. Bring it back on a closed coarse with switchbacks...1/2 uphill...1/2 downhill to the start/finish line. Where else but Colorado would it be more appropriate?

If they did get a track I would like it to be a short track, 1 mile to 1.5 miles.. The longer tracks like California Speedway make for a BORING race..

They shouldn't get a track. West coast NASCAR fans can't be trusted. They're fair weather fans who will abandon NASCAR a few years down the road.
