Both are fab but out of the two I much preferred Thailand. You can do all the shopping you want in Bangkok and then when you want to do the beach thing get an internal flight to somewhere like Koh Samui for beautiful beaches, great restaurants, amazing views, wildlife and friendly locals. The nightlife is really good too.

Its inexpensive to travel between islands so can see a few different ones if you want. Its also really cheap so youre money will go further.

If you do go to Mexico I wouldnt really recomend Cancun as you could be in Florida or anywhere its a nice place but it doesnt really stand apart.

I like Thailand but have never been to Mexico.
It all depends on where you are and the time of year. I would do lots of research on the Web and see which you find most attractive. You will be able to check out places, hotels , weather and whats on etc. Thailand is very cheap and easy to get around, English is reasonable in the tourist areas and the food is excellent as in the beer. Sadly AIDS is common so be very careful. Have a look at the Lonely Planet guide and its online advice pages, these are usually up to date. Bangkok is good for cheap shopping and you can fly to the Islands or get a coach to Pataya on the coast. You need at least two weeks to get the mood !

I don't know where to start since this is very subjective. Both are fantastic.

Perhaps you need to research the two National Tourism sites, have a look at the pictures and the excellent info they provide.

Also have a look at the cost of accommodation and the facilities that you can expect. Thailand represents excellent value for money, particularily in Phuket where they are still recovering from the Tsunami - at least if you went there you'd be contributing to getting the people back on their feet.

Good luck with your choices:

Never been to Mexico but Thailand is an amazing place with what I consider to be the worlds most friendly people. It is diverse too with lovely mountain locations like Chiang Mai in the north and beach locations like Phuket and Kho Samui in the south.

MEXICO...great landscapes...great beaches... ( CANCUN), friendly people...lots of places for shopping...beautiful cities...Mexico City has a history of 3000 years,it's an open air museum...
And it's more secure (safe) than Thailand.Think about that too.

I advise you Mexico. you may decide from a extensive form of websites, staring on the climate (wasteland, temperate, moist) form of journey and approximately subculture you have extra advantageous than adequate. What I see is which you're planing to do it for 2 weeks, this isn´t plenty yet you may desire to pass to the Yucatan Peninsula for a impressive heat and humid wheater (no longer consisting of Cancun that's barely tourism to social gathering) stunning panorama + loads of maya historic past. when you consider that Cuba is an island i think of you may desire to pass to various appealing places, study and luxuriate in the track, dance and hospitality of latin human beings. Cuba is an stunning place to pass to, very diverse and that i'm advantageous you may desire to devise something fairly remarkable there. besides no count the place you pass you will discover dazzling stuff in case you have your eyes fairly open. stable success and function a impressive trip
