I honestly don't understand this. I'm feeling the effects of rejection at the moment. I guess I got rejected without even asking.
Basically, this is my story: I've liked this boy since November 2005, and he knew it. I never came out and told him, but my actions reflected my feelings.
Last night, some girl on the internet started talking to him, and he started talking about me, saying that he's "rejected me 5 times" (Never), and saying that he wouldn't go out with me because I'm not "hot" enough. What he didn't know, (and I didn't even know it until this morning when she sent me all this stuff), this girl and I know each other from an old school.

Why are they so shallow? So what if I'm not the prettiest girl in my school? I'm the top in my grade, I make everyone laugh, I'm always there for my friends, and I try to be nice to everyone. But because I'm slightly over weight, have glasses, and a few pimples (and I mean a few. I have one on my cheek right now and thats it), guys won't even look at me.
This is the same senario throughout my school. Can anyone explain why high schoolers are like this?

Yea, I should have mentioned that I know that not all high schoolers are shallow. I'm not. I don't care about looks at all. I mean, I'll make myself look decent, but that's about it.
As for Mother&Stepmother, to answer you, I wouldn't care. If he was nice and our personalities were good together, I wouldn't care what he looked like.

Bless your heart, I'm sorry...I'm much older but Ive so been there. It's ONE thing and you can write this down. Competition! It doesn't matter, for some reason girls are just cat-like and conniving. And its like a right of passage to go thru HS BS to get you prepared to deal with life when you're older and wiser...
I had this girl in HS who hated me. She was so beautiful, she won everything, she was a cheerleader, etc. etc...I wasn't much competition but she still hated me! Once she even ditched me at lunch, literally asking my friends to sit with her, trying to leave me all alone. I wasn't the most popular girl, but I didn't hurt much for friends either...even still, what I'm trying to say is it just happens. You are in such a MIX of folks in HS that its inevitable that you'll encounter some really treacherous witch, anywhere you go. Trust me it doesn't stop in HS...you just learn how to deal with it.
So go on girl, pick yourself up...Let them say what they want...and I wouldn't give your dude you've liked for so long the time of day, let it go...obviously his loss. He's seems more than shallow, he sounds like a punk...move on girl!!!
Good luck to you.
:) Jennifer

1. When your in high school, you feel you are invincible and that you can do anything (reality is when your in high school you could not punch your way out a wet paper bag).
2. Don't worry about this guy. At least now you know what a total ****** he is. Move on, concentrate on keeping those grades up, go to a good college and graduate. Love will find you when the time is right. You will look back on high school and laugh at how immature everyone was.
3. As for Mr. Lothario, sounds like he's going to be flipping burgers for the rest of his life. Most morons in HS who are popular often times go on to be car sales men. So don't worry about it. Maybe you will run into his sorry *** again.

Put simply -- guys are dumb and we know it.
...
Wow...that was kind of ironic....
Anyway, guys have always been the rougher of the two genders, and they'e often very insensitive and "uncaring." There are a few of us who don't act that way, but we're very rare. High school is meant for teenagers to work out their kinks. I mean...you're not an adult when you're in high school, right? At least, you shouldn't be. You're expected to behave like one, but you're still just growing up. Kids in high school (guys and girls alike) feel inhibited by rules and regulations while attending high school, which develops a desire to be rebellious. It often wears off after graduating from high school and realizing how much freedom you have when you get to college. Hope that answers your question.

Because high school students (yourself included) are just kids. You are here whining about other kids acting the way you are acting. Concentrate on some more important things than how someone else acts. By the time you become an adult you'll begin to see how unimportant high school social situations really are.

Not all are, but I know what you mean about some being shallow jerks. I also have liked a guy since Feb. of 2005. He just thinks I'm crazy.

Because they are too young to know what's really important. Don't bother yourself over this kid, he may end up with the hottest woman in the universe, but with an attitude like that, he'll never be happy.
You're better off without him. If you really want to burst his bubble though, all you have to say is, "Don't flatter yourself, honey."

He is wrong for lying but he isn't shallow. Your just feeling jealous that you got rejected. If he doesn't like you that is his decision. I personally think t was lame of you to come on here and call him shallow to make yourself feel better. Admit this. Would you date the most UGLIEST UGLIEST person you could ever imagine? Probably not. Anyway what I am saying is if he does not like ypu he just doesn't that doesn't make him shallow.
