So you are saying that a single book, translated and altered by Man (who is fallible) from one language to another for thousands of years, contains all of the infinite wisdom of God that will ever be relevant?
If you did the same thing with a house and still expected to live in it you would be considered insane.
One of the biggest reasons Christianity remains as strong as it does today is because up until about 100 years ago, you could be imprisoned and/or killed if you said it was wrong too loudly. This behavior directly contradicts Christ's teachings; what room is there to learn if you're dead? Christianity is wielded, not taught. Those who hold your religious attention hold power over you. Instead of guiding you to look within yourself for the answers you need something external, something other then what God gave you. If God really wanted you to read the Bible, why doesn't it pop out with you when you are born instead of being put into your hands by those who must wield power and wealth over you? Truth comes from deep reflection upon yourself and how you effect the world and other people.
Good luck out there.

I am having trouble understanding your logic.
Even obliging you by saying that people are trying to discredit God. I am having a hard time fathoming the whole "Knowing that God does exist...". This is the point where I would say "Fine, prove he exists." Now you say "The bible proves it. It says he does." And I say "Well what makes the bible a reliable resource for factual information." Well then you say "It is the word of God."
There is the whole arguement in a nut shell. I didn't go any further because normally you would stop listening to reason at that point.
God exists because the bible says so. The bible is true because it is the word of God.
You told me you are a purple polka-dotted unicorn that never lies. What I say is true because you said you never lie.
Squirm all you want, it is the exact same logic.

They won't because each of us has a right to believe as we see fit for ourselves. There is no proof deities are real, there is no proof they are not real.. it's just a big unknown and it all comes down to do you have faith in it or not.
As far as Jesus, he was a man.. nothing more. Human beings are not divine.
The Holy Spirit.. I think they just threw him to have a trio - 3 has been a magical number to many groups for many years and Christianity heavily borrows from other beliefs.
Heaven, hell, satan, demons do not exist.
I have read the bible cover to cover twice and the more I read the more I believe it to be a biased account of the human beings who wrote the scrolls that eventually became the undocumented book you see today.
You can pray for me if it makes YOU feel better.. I do not need nor require your prayers. People help themselves and their fellow human beings.... calling on a an abstract notion achieves nothing.

Too small to box with god? He may have the reach, but I am a lot quicker than he is.
And, I have read your bible. I would be willing to put money on the fact I know more of what is contained within your bible, than you, and most in your bible studies.
And, as an atheist, I don't believe in satan, his demons, and anything else out there.
And, at least I can spell ANOINTED correctly.

I believe in God, but the Bible proves nothing. As I've said on Answers many times, anybody can write a book. Want proof? Visit Barnes & Noble.

As long is Satan is the Price of this world...there will always be doubters of God. Remember, fundamentally thats his greatest tactic. To make people believe that God doesn't exist.

You just lied, you don't "know" there's a god you have blind faith. Like a child believing in Santa Claus. I think all the christians need to read the bible cause from what I've seen atheists seem to know more about than the religious zealots who force their crap on everyone else

Everyone has their own belief system and spirituality, religion.
Who's to say who has the "upper hand?" I thought that being here was about coming to accept everyone as much as we can- esp if it is causing none harm.
Part of saying something is right and the only way is JUDGING and calling someone else wrong.Whichby your Xian beliefs is a sin. Judge not so you may not be Judged....This is fro What may be right for me may not be right for you and vice versa...
Reminds me of an old agage that went: "Camel filters are NOT for Everybody..."

People will stop discrediting God when His existence is proven. The Bible does not answer every question, and those it does answer it doesn't answer very well. It's basically a book full of unsupported assertions. And Satan really doesn't exist. You're talking with a 16th Century attitude here. See that calender? 2007!

"Certainly if God did not hold back from punishing the angels that sinned, but, by throwing them into Tar′ta·rus, delivered them to pits of dense darkness to be reserved for judgment; and he did not hold back from punishing an ancient world, but kept Noah, a preacher of righteousness, safe with seven others when he brought a deluge upon a world of ungodly people;
and by reducing the cities Sod′om and Go·mor′rah to ashes he condemned them, setting a pattern for ungodly persons of things to come; and he delivered righteous Lot, who was greatly distressed by the indulgence of the law-defying people in loose conduct-- for that righteous man by what he saw and heard while dwelling among them from day to day was tormenting his righteous soul by reason of their lawless deeds--
Jehovah knows how to deliver people of godly devotion out of trial, but to reserve unrighteous people for the day of judgment to be cut off, especially, however, those who go on after flesh with the desire to defile [it] and who look down on lordship.
Daring, self-willed, they do not tremble at glorious ones but speak abusively, ... But these [men], like unreasoning animals born naturally to be caught and destroyed, will, in the things of which they are ignorant and speak abusively, even suffer destruction in their own [course of] destruction, wronging themselves as a reward for wrongdoing." 2 Pe 2:4 -10,12,13
