Although it is directly above Columbia, Aruba is apx. 20 miles off the coast of Venezuela due to the shape of the Venezuelan coast line. Because it is located in the southern Caribbean it is out of the Hurricane Belt.

Auba is in the Southern Caribbean, It has Curacao on it's East and Bonaire is on the east of Curacao. It's part of the ABC islands.
