My favorite cousin's daughter is having a birthday this weekend, I cannot attend because I live 6 hrs away and it's on a Sunday (my cousin knows this) so she did not send me an invite. However I know it's her birthday she has been talking to me about the party but I think she simply opted to save herself a stamp and an invite since she knows I can't come, now should I mail a card with a gift card for her anyways or not since I wasn't technically invited. I am 26 my cousin is 28 and were pretty close.

yes! send it! as a good cousin you should know your relatives birthday dates so it would be natural for you to send a card or a gift even if she wasnt having a party! she knows you cant come and yet I am sure she would be happy to know you are thinking about her even if you can be with her!

It's awfully risky to send a gift card through the mail! Who knows where it would end up! If it didn't get to her, you'd be out cash and she'd be out a present. I would just wait til I saw her again.

Mail the card and, if you wish, include a small gift. It is not about your cousin, but her daughter.

Good manners.
