The reality that you or I experience is not quite the same as the reality presented in advertisements and the media driven world. There is this belief that photography is reality, but in all actuality the photographer shapes reality in some form or another. This tendency of shaping the world is what photo journalist avoid and what commercial photographers tend to covet. So what is a constructed image? Constructed images are typically that which exists in the artists mind before it exists in reality. It is an image which has to be constructed. Construction could mean building an elaborate set, to simply going into photoshop and adding special effects to an image. To elaborate on this idea here is an article which delves into the topic of constructed images http://www.grandarts.com/exhibits/ConReals.html
