Even if, I already knew that, this just reinforces those thoughts. Has anyone out there ever sustained a serious burn and thought of the pains of Hell?

Just to get close to a fire makes you not want to go to hell. Not only is the fire here hot but Hell is seven times hotter.

Now see, here's a perfect example of the hell problem. Nervous systems develop to warn the brain when a part of the body is in danger. The alarm is pain. When you die, your nervous system ceases to operate. So cremation is painless. And if you end up in hell, you have no body to destroy and no nervous system to sense pain. So how is torture inflicted?

Oh yes, God will give us new, glorified bodies. But these bodies would obviously be indestructible. If they weren't, a couple of hours in Hell should use them up. (Fresh bodies every day?) And an indestructible body doesn't need a damage warning system because damage is not possible. So how does it hurt?

Even if God/Satan/Whoever could develop an indestructible body with a superfluous pain sensing system, how would they keep the body from adapting to the pain and ignoring it after a while? (For that matter, how could the Beatific Vision be kept fresh so it didn't resemble torture after a few millennia?)

Don't people think these things through?

I have asked to be cremated when I die. I'll take up less space that way.

And I got burned really bad once (second degree burn), and no, it didn't convince me of hell or change my thoughts on any of it at all. It did, however, convince me to be much more careful with an iron.

lol, yes. but actually, a lot of ppl that i kno think that while there might actually be a lake of fire (hell), the true pain and suffering will come for utter and totally complete separation from God or any other living (or dead, as the case may be) being. wouldnt that be terrible? to be completely alone for eternity. eternally burning. eternally seperated from other humans. silence. eternal death and horror.....im not so concerned about the pain of burning.....more about the other stuff hell entails....

Since I know there is no hell I find your question comical. I also plan to be cremated. Why take up space on this planet for a body that is dead?

Yes, one of my hobbies is glass blowing, I have sustained serious burns. No, it has not enforced a fear of hell inside of me. Run it under cool tap water for a few minutes and if effects you terribly or won't stop oozing puss, go to the doctor.

ROFL
I don't think cremation will hurt. As far as Hell is concerned, whether it is to be understood in a physical or a spiritual way or both, it will still be something I wouldn't want for my worst enemy.

a million) positioned the arms in chilly water (no longer ice water because of the fact ice can burn too) 2) after a jiffy make a baking soda paste (baking soda and water) and positioned the paste onto the burns. it will sooth the soreness and help ward off it from blistering.

I believe that hell does not exist. Hell is the absence of heaven just like dark is the absence of light.

I burned my arm with a hot iron and had the same thought. I'm waiting on the rapture now.
