Excellent point.
It annoys me when christians make fun of scientology for example. Their religion is just as wacky, but since they believe it they don't think so.

A very good question. We need to look at our own beliefs critically, and recognize that some things can seem strange to others who might not understand how we have come to those convictions.
"Strange" has a meaning of "unaccustomed" - so I guess a religion with which I am unfamiliar is "strange" to me. That doesn't make it strange in and of itself.

Religions in origin is divided by race. Christianity is exempted because its widespread which was caused by colonization. Alot of people think foreign people are strange so it does not strike me as weird when people think other religions are strange. It comes down to differences and how much pride you have in your individual race. That causes prejudice against other races much like religion.

Nothing really.....our concept of strange can be their concept of normal and what I believe might seem wacky to them. If I didn't have faith in my beliefs and looked at it for the first time, I probably would've thought my own were wacky too :P

Christianity acts more like a cult than a religion, I don't have a problem with any belief system.

My faith is backup by archeology. You want to see the town of Bethlehem I can show it to you. How about Calvary.. Yeap it's there. Some of the cults that have added their own books to what is taught in the Bible can't say that. They haven't one shred of evidence to show that what they believe has any support outside feelings... Strange is only what you do not know. So if you know it it's not strange. Now if you want to talk about what's true or not you have to find out for yourself and the evidence is heavy on the Bible.

Motivation, or why people are believing in something. I actually do not like religious stuff. To me my faith is a personal realtionship with God.

well technically, strange is definitive of whos using it. strange to me might be normal to you.
so what makes a persons religion any more strange then mine is im used to mine, and im not used to theirs. perhaps they think mine is strange and theirs is normal.
what IS normal... what IS strange...?
