I have a few questions to ask...I had a C-section after hours of pushing but was told not to have sex for 6 weeks but my sex drive and body felt healed enough after 3.My lochia was already done by then, too. Now, Im wondering when my period might make its come back and when I could start ovulating again if I havent already. But now after three weeks of being sexually active again I started to spot after the act now, nothing major just light spotting (more of a watery pink spotting) once and then its gone again. Is that normal? When could I except to ovulate and see my period return again if Im bottlefeeding? I also bought a prego kit and it was neg but Iwas it to soon to test since I might have ovulated (if the ovulation test I did was correct) thru or fri then tested sat? When should I try a retest? Does anyone know the answers to these millions of question I have?

Well, if you are up to sex before the 6 weeks is up and you have stopped bleeding, then it's usually fine. If you have pain with intercourse, then take it easy for a while. Sometimes it takes a while for your body to get back to normal after baby. If you are bottle feeding, then you could ovulate any time now. If you did an ovulation kit, then more then likely you are right. If you have had unprotected sex, it's always possible to get pregnant, even this soon after having a baby. It's best to use condoms if you aren't on any other form of birth control. Sometimes the first little while after you have a baby, sex can make you bleed, but this is also a sign of pregnancy. It could just be your cervix is still not totally healed yet, even though you had a c-section. You still pushed for hours, and this can effect your cervix.

As far as the pregnancy test goes, you should wait and see if you have your period anywhere from 2 to 3 weeks after you ovulate. If the kit said you would ovulate thursday or friday, then count 2-3 weeks past that date. If you haven't started your period by then, take another test. Testing right after ovulation won't tell you anything. The egg still hasn't implanted into the uterus yet, so a test will always show negative at that point. You have to wait until you miss your period before you test.

Your body still isn't totally back to normal yet, so it's possible you may not ovulate for a while, or you could have ovulated more then once already. The hormones after a baby can do really weird things. I know many women who have gotten pregnant a month after having a baby. I was breastfeeding and on the mini-pill and got pregnant with my second when my first was only 6 months old, so anything can happen.

Just try to be careful now, and take precautions. You should talk to your doctor about birthcontrol, or use condoms until something is decided. There are a lot of options out there now, so you have some choices.
