Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) include chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear weapons. When the US stopped its offensive chemical and biological warfare programs, it told the rest of the world that any use of CBW by an agressor on US forces or allies would be considered the equivalent of a nuclear attack and would be responded to in kind. So, while a chemical attack won't kill as many (Americans) as a nuclear weapon would, mass quantities of (non-American) people will end up dead if the US is attacked.

in my limited understanding, a CBW is a chemical / biological weapon, while a WMD is a weapon of mass destruction. technically a CBW is a type of WMD, although many people now consider WMD to be a nuclear weapon, though thats not entirely accurate.

Yes, CBW can be classified as WMD.

C = Chemical

B = Biological

W = Weapons

The problem with finding them is--That's a Dam* Big Dessert.

Would you like to search it?

CBW is Chem-Bio Weapon. A simple CBW can be made in your kitchen, and can be as low impact as "irritating". WMD is a weapon designed to create as much death and destruction as possible.

No, and yes.

WMD means "Weapon of Mass Destruction," and includes nuclear weapons, chemical weapons, and biological weapons.

CBW means "Chemical/Biological Weapon," and only includes chemical and biological weapons.

And yes, our troops did find more than 600 TONS of chemical munitions when they invaded Iraq.
