I recommend the UPGRADE back to XP.
Here's what Vista has in store for you...
1) Third party drivers/applications are not allowed unless “approved” by Microsoft. Some of your favorite software won't run on Vista because the drivers have not been "approved" by Microsoft. This also means that the digital camera you just bought may not be "allowed" to connect to the PC.
2) ALL media copied thru Vista is SERIOUSLY degraded. The mp3s that you rip, are not allowed to be full quality. Same with DVD's.
3) Takes up too much of the already strained resources.
Personally, if XP ever goes out of support, I'm going Linux

If you buy your computer from a retailer, you will most likely have to work it out with them upfront and hope for the best. It would take them more time than they would like probably to uninstall Vista and put XP on. They also would probably try and talk you out of it for hassle's sake.
If you have an XP CD, you can just install it on the computer once you buy it, regardless of whether it has Vista on it or not.
If you're not buying the super latest model of computer, you could get lucky and find one with XP still on it. But better get a move on, everything is coming with Vista now!

I agree with you. I would not even think about buying Vista. For one it is too high priced and secondly it still has a lot of bugs. I am happy with my windows XP. It has never let me down.

any pc can run xp. i mean any. vista is not ready for ppl any way. how ever if you have it just stay with it becaus it has dx10 and most 2007 but most likely 2008 games and apps are goning to need dx10.
i think you should try to learn it over a month or to and then go to xp if your sure you dont want it.

.You're going to have to move to Vista eventually, might as well go on and do it and be ahead of the game. It's coming and It's inevitable.
