You can only know the difference through time.
Love isn't love the instant you see that person. It develops by knowing who that person is, feeling comfortable around them, knowing their goals in life, etc. Being one with them.
Life and infatuation are pretty much the first steps of love. You get the butterflies... the teenage feeling.... the puppy love.
But as time goes by, love develops. It's more mature.

I think, when its love, you just KNOW. He's on your mind 24/7, when you hear a love song- you think of him, you always want to be with him, no one even compares to him, you can picture yourself with him forever.
Like is very similar to infatuation... I suppose infatuation may just be a little stronger. Its when you enjoy someone's company and you like spending time with them and you're attracted to them..... but they're just one of several guys on your mind.

So true - TIME will tell.
I don't think any of us know what any of these things mean for sure, but I would think 'like' and 'infatuation' are much more temporary than love is......good luck!

If you meet some-one and you warm to them ..You know instantly if you "like" them or not...If you look at some-one longingly..yearning for their touch..thinking what it would be like to kiss/etc ..them..this is infatuation..e.g. pop star .groupies do this.
But if you love some-one..This is when you feel some-thing is missing once they walk out the door.you count the minutes until when they return.When you close your eyes and you can still see their face..when they touch you even slightly the shiver runs up your back..when they kiss and hold you tight..you feel as though you are going to pass out..your head spins and your toes curl..and if they love you with the same intensity you are a very lucky person ..I hope sincerely hope you find "THE ONE..."

when you think of NOTHING but him, its infatuation. when you'll go somewhere out of your way, that you dont want to goto, just to be with him, its LIKE. and if you're in a car accident, and the first thing you think before worrying about yourself is "are they okay?" and they werent even in the car, its love

When you first meet somebody, you automatically know if you like them or not. You either click with them or clash. Infatuation is more like an obsession. Love is love and you will know.... If you doubt it... its not love

love- a deep and strong emotion that is unconditional that wells from within and bringing you calm and warmth...you will fell completed when with that person
like- a fondness, a smile, a laugh
infatuation- wanting someone sexually or finding them attractive...does not last
