Because cats are coniving, and dogs are truthful. Cats bury their feces for two reasons. One, they are ashamed of their feces and so they lie to themselves and to the world, hoping others will think they have no feces. Two, they are evil. They bury their feces in the hopes that their masters will step in it. Cats love to laugh at others.
Dogs are wonderful and trusting. They trust that their masters are smart enough to avoid their feces. Dogs are not ashamed of their own feces. In fact, they are very proud of it, and will show off their feces to others. Often, other dogs will sample their fellow dog friends feces.
One other thing, dude. You must NOT use the word, feces, on Yahoo! Answers!! I used the word, feces, one time, and my question was terminated as a violation because we are not supposed to use the word, feces, on Yahoo! Answers. So, be careful. I would hate for someone to turn you in for using the word feces, just because you didn't know to not use the word, feces.

Dogs, being substantially smarter than cats, don't want to accidentally dig into some cat's feces.
Lest someone think I'm cat-bashing - Cat's have a better sense of humor than dogs have.
Dogs crave affection, cats don't give a rat's rectum whether you like them or not.
This is more information than requested - but neither do I.

I am not an expert. Apparently though dogs will eat feces. It has something to do with their digestive system. Basically they are like Gold Fish their system is not high functioning.
So why would they bury them then if they are just going to eat them. It is important to pick up after dogs especially for this reason.
Wough!

I think it's because dogs are more about marking their territory with their smelly excretions. When a dog goes on a walk, all they want to do is take a whiff to determine who's peed or pooped on that tree recently, as if that's their way to get an update on all the latest gossip in the local dog community. Cats, on the other hand, are more discreet.

Because it's easier for a cat to bend it's head towards it's chest than for a dog. Think about it. You're not going to see a dog bury it's face because it's much more uncomfortable.

dogs do not haver the time they are too busy chasing the cats to stop them messing in their garden.apart from that cats mess in a pile and dogs tend to go round in a circle and move along, they would have to dig a moat or a trench.imagine if you had a great dane and it buried one in the middle of your lawn, praps its best they dont.
