I really don't think she's asking whether she can feed her animal spoiled foods, people.

A family member has a stupid dog who isn't fed table scraps, nor is it nutritionally deficient or bored. It's a healthy dog. But it surreptitiously eats poop and buries it's food for weeks before eating it, to my relative's chagrin. That's revolting. It gets a lot of baths. That's what dogs do. Good thing it gets worm pills.

We worry about our domestic dogs because they are not used to living in the wild and do not have the same diet that a wild dog has, so they cannot eat in the same manner that a wild dog does and not get sick from it.

Also what they eat spreads around in your home as well, and if they get worms and more from eating rotten meat, you can pick them up just by walking on the floor barefoot.

You are confusing the habits of wild animals and domesticated dogs. Wild animals are consistently exposed to rancid meat and the bacteria that thrive in it. Domestic dogs are not; they get sterile food fed to them from clean bags in clean bowls. They would react to spoiled meat just like a human would--cramps, diarrhea and vomiting.

Also, just because an animal does something in the "wild" doesn't mean its the right thing to do. Most wild animals don't live nearly as long as their domesticated cousins and they are in generally poorer health.

I have three dogs and they have never eaten or buried any kind of food except rawhides. Table food really should not be given to a pet.

Their sense of taste is not as accute as ours so to them it has more flavor when its more pungent.
However with that comes more bacteria and parasites. Those things are what gets anyone sick.
