i have a 12 year old staffie who managed to get hold of a lamb bone on sunday and has been ill since.
i took her to the vets yesterday (monday) as she was straining to go to toilet and the vet said her rectum was completly empty, but gave her an injection to try to relieve any stomach ache she may of had.
she was restless all night and wouldn't eat or drink anything, she then started to throw up the tablets the vet gave us for her. so i took her back today and the vet said her rectum was still completly empty, but he then said he would take her in for an x-ray to check there was no blockage.
the x-ray has now shown she has a peice of bone causing a blockage in the top of her abdomen, she has now been admitted and put on a drip and painkillers and will be re x-rayed to see if there is any movement of the bone by the morning. if not they will have to operate on her to remove it.
i was wondering if anyone else has had this problem with their dog and if the dog was ok after
