How do I find out if she likes me and/or should I remain friends or try to become her boyfriend...?

My boyfriend and I were close friends for a long time before we started going out. He loved me the whole time too. But the feelings weren't mutual.....

But one day, after over a year of being friends, he asked to hang out with me. I said sure. I didn't know if it was going to be a date or not... but he's a friend. What's the worst that can happen?

We ended up hanging out with some friends and had some alone time to just talk and stuff. Little did I know that I liked him back. It was amazing. It seemed to happen JUST LIKE THAT. Like a switch was just turned on or something.

LOL I remember that day he also opened the car door for me and I said thank you. His response was, "That's what you do on a date, right?" I just laughed. I never even answered his question. HAHA.

We've been together for a little over a year now. : }

So if you want to know if she likes you back, ask to just hang out with her one day and see where things go from there. Ya never know if ya don't try! Making it casual eases off the pressure. It's always a good thing. Maybe you could pull off the same line my boyfriend said to ME.... "That's what you do on a date, right?"

"A great friendship is the way to a great love."

This questions comes up so many times here on Yahoo. I think, sometimes that might work out but in general there is a reason why two people are friends and nothing more. That is, that we don't have many true good friends and it's nice to be able to claim that. Once you break that barrier, it is impossible to go back unless one of you has amnesia in the future. It simply ruins everything. Plus, if you do get more involved, and it doesn't work out, then things are even more bleak. If the two of you are meant to be together, you will know and she will know.

How long is a very long time?

The best relationships are when b/f g/f are best of friends.
Don't complicate it with the "S" word.

Enjoy what you have and let it naturally evolve.
Tell her how you feel about her.
Women like that kind of stuff.

Well tell her how you feel. If she feels the same way, then great. But if she does not, then tell her its ok and that it wont runin your friendship. If she cares for you like a friend or more... then she will understand. Life goes on... forever more!

Well, I hate to say this but if you have been friends for a long time and you are just that....that's your answer. Trust me, if she liked you as more than a friend you would have known that a long time ago. Sorry.
