I think you have things mixed up a little bit. It is "LEGAL" for a US citizen to go south to visit and return to the US (not to take up residence in Mexico, but to return to the United States), and it is "ILLEGAL" for a Mexican citizen to come north only if they stay permanently. It is only "LEGAL" for a Mexican citizen to visit and to return to Mexico. (Once again, not to take up residence in the United States, but to return to Mexico). I live in an area where there are lots of illegal immigrants from Mexico and it is a very sore subject with alot of people. They take up residence in our area illegally, and use our public assistance/welfare and they are not even a US citizen. That is the taxpayers money going for that, and the illegal immigrants don't pay taxes. Long story short, they abuse the system and they are not even citizens. If we were to do that in Mexico, we would be in a mexican prison for the rest of our lives. Okay, I am done ranting now. Get your facts a little straighter before you ask a question like that.

It's illegal either way. The problem is that Mexico acuatlly enforces their immigration laws. There are too many whiney people in the US who wanna let the illegals stay here, so no one does much.
Mexico even gets pissed when the US starts putting up a fence at the border!!!! What? They are mad because we're making a feeble effort to enforce a law and our national integrity??? (note: I said nothing about racial issues, just a national integrity. get legal or get away!)

No, when US citizens go to Mexico, they must have a tourist visa and a passport if they plan on staying longer than a few days. But when 6 million illegal aliens now live in the US, that's a criminal act, on a mass scale.

You see the reason is that when Americans go into another country illegally like Dog the Bounty Hunter they end up in deep ****. If he said he was doing someone a favor by capturing that stupid fool. then why did he go into a country where bounty hunting is illegal? Well it all come down to this "they think they don't have to obey the laws in other countries just theirs. Also that is why all those child molesters and pedophiles go into Mexico. So that they can do what ever they want. because a bounty hunter is not allowed to go in and get them.

Since when is it illegal for us to go South????? I've been "south" a number of times. Nice down there. Bargains in real estate, lower cost of living. I was thinking a baby boomer exchange program.

you've got it backwards. It's legal for anyone to travel North or South, as long as you have the proper paperwork and documentaion.
