they are essentially the same thing
actually, religion, folklore and mythology should be together, as they are all the same. religion is unprovable mythology, based on legends and superstition, with the addition of cult rituals, like drinking blood and eating flesh on sundays.
spirituality is something altogether different

They don't want to offend a ton of people I guess.
Remember people who have faith in their religion believe it is the Truth. Calling it Mythology and Folklore would be insulting in their minds.

Religion and spitituality are based on faith, while folklore and myth are based on fiction. Truth lies within the faith of a person, even those who dont beleive in anything.
