All the lovely couples or really women why do men tell lies ina relationship instead of telling the truth to keep them out of trouble. PLus why do us as strong females lie in a relationship also.. Im 14 and i havent lied to my bf yet, but he has lied to me once or twice, what should i do, even though he told me the truth when i asked him" why are you lying to me?" so please help me understand why do we lie in realtinships if you relly love that persin that you are with and you dont want to hurt that person.

Baby-doll I guess it's sad but true- we have all lied even in the best realtionships. THOU SHALT NOT LIE HAS BEEN BROKEN BY EVERYONE OF US AND IF WE SAY WE HAVEN'T WE WILL SOME TIME OR OTHER- AND NEVER SAY NEVER - CAUSE IF YOU DO YOU WILL END UP DOING IT SOMETIME IN YOUR LIFE IF YOU LIVE A LONG LIFE. IT GET'S US OUT OF HOT WATER SOMETIMES AND IT'S GET'S US OUT OF STICKY SITUATIONS SOMETIMES.SOMETIMES WE DO IT TO KEEP FROM HURTING SOMEONE ELSE, SOUNDS CRAZY BUT WE'VE ALL DONE IT.HE TOLD YOU HE LIED RIGHT- AT LEAST HE ADMITTED IT. Men (or boys in your case) generally just want to impress girls and don't usually have very high opinions of themselves. They think that whatever they are doing, have done, did, including how they think about things is not good enough for you (or any girl) so they lie. They don't usually have the foresight to realize this will only get them into trouble in the longrun.. especially not at 14 or so.

Not all men tell lies in a relationship. When two people are truly happy in a relationship, they do not lie to each other. I have a boyfriend and I do not lie to him, and I am sure he doesn't lie to me. I trust him. Your 14 and you have a lot of growing up to do.
And your not dating men ... your 14, so that means you should be dating BOYS.

Don't give that crap about you not lying. Everyone lies. Either to keep out of trouble or to hid your newfound affair. There is no way to not tell a lie once in your life, and if you tell me you don't then you are a liar also.

14,... is a bit young. my first bf was when i was 19 and even at that time i knew it was nothing serious. boys wont start to understand until they are older and if he was lying about something serious then u guys have trust issues. when your older you will understand that sometimes it is better to lie then to risk a bad ending. sometimes they dont need to know the truth. what they dont know wont hurt them (if its nothing big of course) and its better than abig conflict that can last for hours. if you think u have something good... then you have to keep some things to yourself.

Most people lie in a relationship because of the idea they might lose the love that they have. Whether this is right or wrong is debatable

that's the point we don't want tp hurt theperson that's why we try and hide behind lies to make them feel secure. i have told my bf anything he wanted to know and i honestly haven't lied to him at all.

People lie and think they can get away with it! Sometimes they think they are saving the other person grief, but the other person always finds out. We all have lied at one time or another!

the reason that we lie in a relationship is because we are afraid of hurting that person and loosing them. but if you look at it, it still doesn't make sense because when you keep something from your significant other they might be hurt more...
