My 8-yr old son asked me this question today:
"Why don't women have a penis? I mean, why do men have penises they can go out pee out of and women don't have them to pee out of?"

Because 'Tab A' fits into 'Slot B'.

Answer the question asked. Women don't have a penis because men and women are built differently and women pee out of a different place (orifice, hole, whatever), and sit to pee.

And leave it at that. If he needs or wants more information, he'll ask. Just make sure you don't appear uncomfortable or embarrassed, and reassure him that if he has other questions he should go ahead and ask.

Always answer only the question asked in language your son can understand. Don't dumb it down, but don't get too complicated. And please, use the proper names for everything.

Ah the wonders of a child's mind.

Just say women don't have them because they don't need them, they're designed differently to men and that's why they pee sitting down.
He's 8 he doesn't need to know details and probably wouldn't understand them.

Um...............I would say that men and women are made differently for reasons. Like women have babies and men don't but it takes to to make one, and when you are ready to discuss this please let me know and we will talk all about it. Are you ready to talk now about it?

My daughter was 6 when she asked the question and little by little we have discussed sex and things. She just turned 10.

i got your answer...

When God created a man and a woman, he gave them each everything they would need to survive. Once everything was divided, there were two parts left over. God said, I have this thing called a penis, it allows you to stand up when you pee and it does a few other cool things too, and the man stood up and said "I want it! Give it to me!" so God did. Then the woman asked God what was left over and he gave her a brain

Simply say "men and women are made differently." I think we sometimes tense up whenever kids ask questions like that. Do it as simply as you can, that's all.
