I'm sure it'll hurt. I know this method of treatment is old-school, but I'm tired of this thing. It's on my wrist at the base of my thumb on the palm side. I can find all sorts of reference to the method online, but nothing actually giving advice on how to do it. Do you use the spine of the book? Do you support the wrist on something soft or just lie you arm down on a table. Also, were you able to do it yourself or did you get someone to do it for you? I don't know if I can bring myself to do it on my own. :)
Thanks.

Yep - I used the Dictionary of Medicine, Nursing and Allied Science. Worked like a dream. I just laid my hand on the table and whacked it. I understand it seems rather masochistic to beat yourself with a book, but it really is effective! - and FAR less painful that the option of surgery, which I've also tried on my other wrist...
Good luck. A dram of your favorite hard liquor will help...

this method is actually ancient, but was the only way my neice was finally rid of it...hers was performed by her hand specialist...he slammed the book on the topside of her wrist...not by the binder, but the flat side of a very large volume..I think it was A-PL of his encyclopedia set...also it was 1998 when he did this..

I had mine surgically removed now have a big unattractive scar, the doctor can deaden your hand and crack it. you won't feel it until later, if I had to do it all over again I would have chosen the bible. Good luck
