MY BOYFRIEND HAS DEVELOPED A SERIOUS SERIOUS DRUG PROBLEM. LAST MONTH HE HAD SURGERY AND WAS GIVEN A COLOSTOMY BAG. HE SMOKES WEED, CIGS AND DOES PERKS EVERYDAY. FROM THURSDAY TO SUNDAY HE IS AWAKE AND PARTYING ON A MIXTURE OF COCAINE, ECSTASY, WEED, PERKS, CIGS AND VODKA. HE ALSO JUST STARTED LEXAPRO FOR ANXIETY. THE LAST PAST 2 WEEKS HE HAS BEEN DELIRIOUS WHEN HE'S MESSED UP. MAKING UP STORIES, SAYING THAT I'M CHEATING ON HIM, STARTING ARGUMENTS. SAYING CRAZY THINGS. HE'S ON PROBATION, SHOULD I TELL HIS PROBATION OFFICER?

If this is your boyfriend, sorry, but you're a loser

As a police officer for over 30 years...and a narcotics officer for the past 20 years...I've seen the devestation caused by drug abuse.

As others have suggested...it's a very tough decision on your part to make!

However, because your boyfriend has overextended his use of legal and ILLEGAL drugs...he is formulating a recipe of heartache, self and family destruction, and illegal activities that could bring more than just a few problems upon yourself.

Knowing that he is involved in illegal drug use only assures him in his own mind that you condone his activities...which is no way to send a message of intolerance to him.

My suggestion is notify his probation officer and find a better life partner that doesn't have to resort to illegal activities. This is nothing more than a dark road to travel.

Best wishes!

I know it would be a hard thing to do, but I would definitely tell his probation officer. He may be able to arrange for some sort of counselling or help for your boyfriend, and get him back on track.

Learning to deal with the colostomy bag would be hard on anyone, so it's kind of understandable that he's turned to drugs.... but he's harming himself as well as hurting.

Please tell his probation officer , but his doctor needs to know as well, so that he can do what he can, on his end.

I hope everything works out for you both.
**Hugs**

Before you even entertain that thought what is the reason for you sticking around? He's hellbent on destruction and you, my dear are going to end up being his punching bag. Now that can be literally or figuratively.
As it stands you are one now figuratively what with his accusations of infidelity, arguments, et al. Next may be a punch in the mouth or worse. Know what happens to people like your boyfriend who murder their girlfriends in a drug induced rage? They go to jail for a very short period of time. Cry because they're atticted to anything and everything. With you dead it'll be a cakewalk to get on the stand and say he tried to quit but you enabled him, supplied him with booze and dope and made him become what he is and commit murder.
No? Well...care to take that chance. Forget the probabtion officer. You stick around there and you'll regret it.

First tell his doctor and try to get him into a rehab program. Mixing the legal and illegal drugs could create a fatal mixture. You will be saving his life if you tell. If he won't stop on his own, tell the probation officer.

Tough one....but seriously give the dude a chance to smarten the hell up on his own before you drop the bomb, cause what your about to do will be on the books forever and depending what hes on probation for that could have some pretty serious consequences for him...in short if you think he has that coming do it.

Ok, been there, done that. 1st, if you love him you will do what you can to help him get himself healthy again. That means if you are not comfy telling his PO, then tell his DR, and his DR will inform his PO. As is required by most state laws. 2nd. Protect yourself. Not just physically, mentally and emotionally. If a raid is made on the residence and you are there knowingly in the presence of drug peraphernalia, that's posession hun. Jail time for you. 3rd. and again if you love him and yourself, you need to get help for both of you. No woman (or man) deserves to be abused, be it physical, verbal or mental. Don';t delude urself, by not getting him help u r supporting his habits.

As hard as it may be my answer would be 'yes' tell his probation officer - he needs help and you can start the ball rolling by getting him on the road to recovery. Plus I would give him a break for a few months to prove that he can get it together for you.

I am not sure about telling his probation officer, but I would get as far away from him as I could, before he hurts you. He will drag you down with him. Good luck.

well it is only going to end two ways him dead or in jail. He is not going to wake up one day and say what am I doing I need to straighten up. I am guessing you prefer jail so maybe you should. But I agree you need to get away from him.
