The cool green cap they get with the brim, which eventually gets "scrambled eggs". Plus military jobs pay you retirement after 20 years of active military service... that means with a college degree you get retirement and job experience of 20 years, on average at the age of 42!!!

If one is in college or has a 4-year college degree and wants to serve his/her country they might as well do ROTC during college or go to OCS after and become an officer. Officers get paid more and have greater responsibilities. Plus, they are usually the ones getting saluted rather than doing the saluting. The quality of life is also better for officers than it is for enlisted soldiers.

Because its better to order someone to go get themselves killed than to be the one following that order. Also, I think ROTC pays for your college tuition.
