You don't have to get into details if you don't want to. How many of the more heavily tattooed out there have been in prison? I guess I may be considered heavily tattooed, and I have only gotten two tickets in my entire life. Once was on a jet ski. Are we a bunch of felons???

Hey dee 'the harpoon' harper. Why don't you take your garbage posts and go elsewhere? I won't be scooping any icecream for you anytime soon. Looks like that is the last thing you need. Off you go.

SUCH a stereotype! Anybody can be a criminal tattooed or not! and anyone who doesn't think that need to check up on it! Though true that gangs and people who have been to prison have them, NOT all who have them have been to prison or are like that! Every kind of person gets into trouble with the law and it is unfair to single out someone just because they have tats! That is just as discriminating as someone calling out an honest black man just because he is black! If you are really concerned with the status of someone do it because they show REAL signs of being a bad person not because they have ink and wear it proudly! Get over the stereotypes people ! they are becoming obsolete! ANYONE ANYWHERE can be a criminal! HELLO PEDOPHILES! They don't usually have tats and they look very normal! A TEACHER in my high school way back when got taken out of class by police only to find out that he liked kiddy porn! HE WAS A TEACHER! So give me A F*ING break, tats don't tell you that this person has been to jail or are bad... I have three and never done anything illegal! and yes I will get more because I love them and wear them proudly!

The closest I've ever gotten to being arrested was an act of civil disobedience definitely *not* associated with felons. Had I been arrested, I would have been joined by three priests, a rabbi and a host of senior citizens.

Aside from that, I'm practically a frickin' boy scout. Was too, once upon a time.

Maybe tats are common with felons; the poster above seems pretty familiar with them (and apparently their writing style). So? Long hair is common with some felons? Jesus Christ is pictured with the same. Some have shaved heads - so did Buddha.

(And I'm trying oh so hard *not* to point out the poor/incorrect usage of that Latin...)

I have 7 tattoos, no prison time. I know lots of people that have tattoos that have never been to prison! I also know people that have been to prison that have lots of tattoos. Believe me, you can easily tell the difference between tats done in and out of the joint. I'm not saying that the difference is because of talent, because a lot of those jailhouse tattooist have the skills, they just don't have good equipment or good ink. Wait til they get out, and you can get quality work form some of them...plus great prices. Just make sure they are properly sterile!!!

I'm sorry is this really a question. I don't know how anyone would think that just because you have tattoo's makes you a felon?!
Tattoo's are a form of self expression and personal art. You choose to get tattoo's to better describe yourself in an artful fashion. There is no special ingredient in the ink they use to make you want to commit a crime. That is of your own conscience and free will. But just because you have a body covered in tattoo's does NOT make you an automatic felon.
You choose in life what you want to do. Not the way you dress or the amount of tattoo's you have.

Nope, no jail time here, heavily tattooed. I did get a speeding ticket once, but I'm pretty sure that had nothing to do with my tattoo's and everything to do with my lead foot, LOL. The sad thing is, here where I live I cant work in the food industry, by Law I would have to cover all of my exposed ink.... which for me would be kinda hard to do as I have them on my neck, hands, arms, ears etc. Thank God my "co-workers" dont give a hoot about my ink.

I'm working on being heavily tattooed but I have my fair share of mods...

Never gotten a ticket of any sort, never been arrested or done time. I follow the law and keep out of trouble, as silly as some of the laws may be though :-P

I don't think we're bad people, I think everyone else is just out of their mind 0_o

i am pretty heavily tattood but i am not a felon. i have been to jail alot but never prison. usually i can tell if theyre prison tats cause they will have different tats that mean different things. like up here in ohio if you see a dude with a solid black ohio shape with bars through it then it means that you have done time in ohio state prisons.if the tats are all real bright colors and what not then they probly not prison tats. that and people that have been locked up usually carry themselves different from those that have not. i usually look at peoples tats if i get close enough to see them cause i love tattoos but anyway i can usually tell if theyre prison tats or not so i dont make my asumption until i see what tats they are.

I think dee needs to get out of the tattoo section since she clearly knows nothing about them in the first place. That rant reminds me of the phrase "its better to let people think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt".

People think everyone with tattoos are criminals and such because the media portrays them as such. In the news, you always see the bank robber loaded with tattoos, and that is the one person you think of when you think of tattoos. Even in movies, the rebels have tattoos; you will never see the protagonist in a movie with a tattoo. Narrow and weak-minded people like dee always remember the bad people with tattoos and are blind to the good ones even if they are right in front of them.

No...If one thinks...heavily tattooed=prison time, they are being very closed minded and following stereotypes. I've known some pretty heavily tattooed people that are like pussycats and some non-tattooed people that you wouldn't want to have a run in with....and vice versa. A tattoo doesn't tell you anything...you can never tell sometimes...

I don't think that's true at all today. Everybody's getting inked. There are two reality shows about tattoo shops. They're really becoming quite the norm. I know lots of people with lots of tattoos and none of them have been to jail. I only have a couple, wishing for more. My husband is about to get a sleeve done and he's pretty normal. I expect that when my kids get old enough they'll get tattoos too!!
