We got a brand new computer that has Vista on it, and it runs really slow out of the box, like I've already loaded it up with games and stuff lol. Can I fix that?

Yes. Vista = trash. (Ok, this is a strong statement, but after all the frustrations I have with it, that's how I summarize it)

I'm sorry, I'm a pro-Windows guy, but my brand-new Dell Inspiron 6400 (with 2 Go RAM), made to run Vista, barely runs Windows faster than my 512 Mo RAM Windows XP Pro machine.

Also, Vista has MAJOR compatibility issues with many drivers. Applications MADE to run with Vista DON'T run on Vista. Ex: The Windows Sidebar crashes on my PC.

So, forget Vista for the next 6 months. Use XP, it runs fine.

When Windows XP first came out, most computers had only 128MB of RAM. The were DOG SLOW. I recommend that you add more RAM. That will make the new Windows Vista run very well. You might need 2GB or more. Like he says, Coast Memory has good bargans, but also will show you exactly what your computer needs. They guarantee their memory.

Good luck and Happy Computing! HEY, that's my line.

Your first step is to get MORE RAM. Look up your system at http://www.coastmemory.com and try to buy 2GB, so your computer gets good again.

Good luck and Happy Computing!
