my girlfriend brokeup with me unexpectdedly after an argument, only leaves a note, saying dont call me please, need time to think and get myself together, everything is left in the open. Is 7 days enough time to at least know if your willing talk or continue at all. should I just call and ask, or what.

give her some time and some space.
whatever yall got in a fight about shaked her and made her think and re-evaluate the circumstances.
i say do the three day rule.
give her a ring in a few days and say that your sorry for whatever and ask her if you two can talk and work things out.

At least you can say your ex has been civil, however breaking up with someone unexpectedly is a really nasty way of doing things.
As an example, she might need time to think because she likes someone else or has fallen out of love with you - those things really need to be thought about.
I'd say a week is enough time to text her or send her an email. Don't be all slushy with her and tell her you love her and want her back, just send her a quick message asking if she's ok to talk with you now because you would like to know the reasons behind her actions.
If she doesn't reply for another week then try calling her. If she continues to ignore you then don't bother with her, she wouldn't be worth it.

The longer u wait....the more she will think u really dont give a crap... so u should of called right away even though she said not to....Think about what the argument was about ..u probably missed a big point

I would lay odds on her waiting for you to call. It's a girl thing, she wanted the space, maybe to sort herself out but most likely to see if you care enough to initiate the contact. What do you have to lose? Atleast you will find out if she's in or out, right?

7 days? I would give her more time then that. Learn to accept that she may never come back again, but stay open if she ever decides to come back. If she doesn't contact again, go on with your life. She will have to learn to accept that you can wait, but that you can't wait forever and that you have your own life.

Call her and tell you have had time to think and you are done with dating her.
Certainly there are other people out there to date who will not blatantly disrespect you.
