Do u stop him from being active? Do u have to always support his back when he wants to get up and drink water? We want him to regain the strength in his hind legs. What do we do? Anyone out there has experience please help. Give us some pointers. Does he hurt himself when he gets up on his own?

It's impossible to say without having seen your dog or knowing the exact extent of the surgery.

All of these are things your vet should have told you after the surgery, though. If he didn't, or you were to nervous/worried to remember, call them up now (or go to the office) and ask all your questions. Take notes.

Don't hesitate to contact them several times if you think of more questions later. They won't be annoyed or anything. That's all part of their job - post-op care.

You don't want to accidentally do something wrong. So make sure the vet explains everything in detail. Better safe than sorry.

Good luck to you and your dog! :)

Call your vet! They will be happy to guide you through post-surgery info. Also ask about helping your dog with a sling under the belly to lift him. This will help take the stress off while he heals. I wish him a speedy recovery. Best of luck.
