Christians (like me) believe that God made humans in His own image. God used to come down in the cool of the night and talk and walk with Adam; now, there is so much sin in the world, He no longer wishes to do this.
This is all found in the book of Genesis in the Bible:
Genesis Chapter 1 Verses 26-29
Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every thing that creeps on the earth."
