Have you done your Pass Plus? It could reduce your car insurance. http://www.passplus.org.uk/

To check lots of different insurers try http://www.confused.com/ and also Screentrade at http://www.jdoqocy.com/click-2108317-10295989 - they are new from Lloyds TSB and they search loads of different insurers for you - like confused.

It's worth getting quoted from both to see which is better.

You should try th post office as they've just done me a good deal. I also remember Endsleigh was cheap when I was young, don't know what they're like now though.

Are you entitled to an NUS card as you can get some discounts through that.

An alternative is putting an older person with good NCB on your policy as this can bring the cost down, or even see if you can get someone to take out the policy on your behalf and try one of those company's that let you earn NCB for the first year at least as you won't have passed your test for a while anyway.

The proper answer is though that you will be paying a lot as you're under 25, male and have no NCB let alone the fact you don't have a full licence

I would recommend you to try this internet site where you can compare rates from different companies: http://INSUREFOREVERYBODY.INFO/index.html?src=2YAlytukZI20

Hi!

I hate to have to tell you, but that's a REALLY good quote for a 17 year old boy!!

I'm not kidding!!

We went through Confused.com and got loadsa quotes online. The best one we got was £900 and that was for a 17 year old girl. When we asked for a quote for a boy - the highest one we got was £3500!! Oh, I've just remembered... some of them wouldn't even insure a boy!

Keep trying, I'm sure if you look a little harder you can shave a couple of hundred off that quote!

Best of luck!

At your age it is very very expensive believe me , you are a young driver, and only when you reach 25 it will drop, alot,

Take the pass plus, it will reduce your car insurance maybe by half,

ask around insurance don't just try one, but remember your 17 its not surprising its this much, I know how you feel , it is alot, and I hate it too, but take my advice do the pass plus because it does reduce your insurance, and ask around , and see what qutoe they give you , also a smaller enigne car helps to for insurance to be low.

I'm sorry Kyle.. the general rule is.. if you can't afford the insurance.. don't buy the car....

You'r only 17.. save your money.. hold out for 21, when the insurance drop.. then buy cat that you want and the preiums drop dramatically.

Good Luck

Thats the way it goes. Never mind, in 30 or 40 years you should get a decent deal.
There are some insurers that specialise in young drivers. Google insurance+young people and take yer pick.
