They could still be flea bites----you don't have to have pets in order for the house to have fleas. However, the bites could also be from ticks, spiders, ants, mosquitos, lice, or a number of other small creatures. I'm sorry to hear that you seem to be the favorite....for some reason, bugs seem to prefer some people over others. There does seem to be a genetic aspect to this, but body scent, the color of your clothing, your hygiene, and even your blood sugar can all be factors. If you wear anything scented that the rest of your family doesn't (e.g. perfume or a certain kind of lotion or deodorant), that might be drawing the little monsters to you in particular. If you can, try to avoid sweet things, too.

I live in South Texas, where I have often had this very same thing happen. While I'm sleeping, a fire ant (a red ant whose bite is normally very painful) walks along my body and bites me every few millimeters or inches. When I wake up, I have red, painful, and itchy bites that, in a few days, blister and break open. Then, I have red marks for about 2-3 more weeks, but they slowly fade without scarring.
By the way, this has happened to me while sleeping with another person, yet that person received no bites. Insects are particular about whom they bite...and females are often preferred because we wear lotions and perfumes, and we also have thinner skin than men have.

This is very interesting, because my boyfriend has the same exact problem. We also sleep in the same bed, and I have no bites either. We also did the whole search for bugs thing and didn't find anything. He did consult a doctor in the matter, and the doctor didn't have an explanation either. As far as I know, it is a medical mystery, but if you hear otherwise, let me know!

Ok. They are either chigger bites. Been outside? Or you are haveing an allergic reaction to some medicine or something. This would be called "hives". I'm almost 100% sure it's one of these 2 things. I just don't know enough about your situation to say which.

Bedbugs.
Check out the site below for description of symptoms, how to diagnose, and how hopeless they are to treat since DDT has been outlawed.
"Perhaps the easiest method for detection is to place double sided carpet tape in long strips near or around the bed and check the strips after a day or more. This is also useful in detecting insect presence in general."

Bed bugs. You can't see them. Maybe they liked you better than your son, I'm meaning that seriously. They're might be something more favorable about you than him or you wife. Get a new mattress. Preferably one that has a hypo allegentic cover were dust mites and bed bugs can't get in.

Did you just get back home from a trip? I have heard of people getting bed bug bites while staying in hotels and such. Then they bring them home with them??
If not then
Maybe since you are the only one ...is it a reaction to a lotion or laundry detergent?
