Me too. me too. me too. currently on paxil, but i have anxiety issues so i'm on a mood stabilizer also. Everything sucks. The f***ers who say to go outside or talk to friends: go to hell. You have obviously never felt anything like this. I recently picked up a pamphlet about electroshock therapy at my psychiatrist's office; they said it can help with people whose depression is severe and drug-resistant. Yes, I would rather shoot lightning through my brain and risk permanent damage than live like this anymore. Talk therapy is a good idea, but my insurance won't pay for it. Hopefully yours will. I feel for you.

Yes. Going through it right now. I have struggled with it for years. Some days are better than others. In the last year I have tried Prozac, Wellbutrin, Remeron and Cymbalta and none of them have helped me much. It's discouraging. I know what you mean. But don't give up!
The only advice I can offer is first, get a good psychiatrist who is sensitive to how you are feeling and willing to let you try different meds. Some meds work better for some people than others. Second, seek out a therapist to help you talk about the issues that might be making you depressed. Research has shown that therapy and meds together work better than either one alone.
God bless and good luck. Don't give up. There are some moments that make it worthwhile.

Life really sucks sometimes. I mean, it REALLY does. EVERYONE has felt the way you have.
That being said, if you have tried different meds to no avail without altering environmental aspects contributing to how you feel, it is easy to see why you don't feel better.
Medical docs are operating from a medical model of treatments. What they don't tell you, or what they all may not tell you, is that medication can only do so much. It's really a moderating approach that can alleviate symptoms so that you CAN address what it is in your environment that is upsetting or depressing or whatever.
I would recommend augmenting your med treatment with some cognitive/behavioural therapy. At the very least, people need to vent how they are feeling, feel understood, and have an action plan regarding what can be done about any problems they might have. I don't know anyone whose problems and feelings can just *poof* go away by introducing a drug. Really.
If you have someone to talk to you, use that resource. If you feel an objective, third-party would better serve your needs, see a counsellor. Ask your doc about who you can see and choose one that will best suit your needs, as you see it.
It's not a weakness to ask for help. EVERYONE needs help at some point in their lives. We ALL feel and we are all equiped with sadness and despair.
Good luck. Wishing you a little happiness soon.

I think that you need to go to a good 'general practitioner' and get a 'super thorough physical' with ALL of the blood tests. You may be 'depressed' but you may also have something 'physically wrong' with you that can be 'fixed' or at least 'get better' if you are on the 'right' medication. Be sure to tell the doctor EXACTLY what 'anti-depressants' you've been on and are on now, and ask him to 'take over' ALL of your medications, even the 'anti-depressants' ... and if he says he thinks you 'need it' then you should also get some 'therapy' ... and GOOD LUCK. Sometimes the road back from clinical depression is long and hard, but it's always 'worth it' in the end.

It's all a frame of mind. It is a proven fact that if you act or assume this virtue of well being , It will become real.
You're comparing your self to the wrong people.
You have a bed to lay in, many others do not.
Buy some hot coffee for a homeless person. Volunteer at a local hospital , brighten a child's day.
Happiness is like love. the more you give away, the more you have.
The difference that one person can make in the lives of others is incredible.
Don't look for your happiness but to give it to others and you will find it.
Your smile alone can touch someones life.
See more comedies instead of Horror. Avoid negative people. Encourage others and you will be encouraged.
Realize that there is a creator, talk to him. ask to be used of him and he will send people your way.

Maybe it's something medical. What where your physical & blood work results?
Try a different med.
How about therapy?
I've read a great deal of wonderful books that have helped.
Happiness is a choice by Barry Kaufman
Living in Love with yourself by Barry Elsworth
Read anything by Wayne Dyer
Good Luck. There is a happy person burried inside you.

Look for God, your soul is feeling empty. Try to find a local church and tell the pastor your problems, they will pray for you and help you through this problem. Also get exercise, find something you like. I enjoy playing basketball and riding bike. I really hope you decide to turn to the Lord for help. He and only He can take the pain away. The Bible is the word of the Lord, take the time to read it. I recommend you read Matthew 11:28-30. God bless you

I think being depress is more than feeling bad, anti depressants help you feel good(sometime) but until you attack the root of whatever problems you maybe having, you will continue to feel bad

you should only use the medicine as a LAST resort. try hanging out with friends, getting a b/f or g/f, or someone really close who you can tell all ur problems to. or go outside and get some exercise. riding a bike is a good way of clearing your mind.

Have you talked to your doctor? Some medications are suppose to make you worse than before until they start to work and then you will feel better but if this does not changes withing two weeks I would talk to my doctor to see what else they can prescribe.
