Have you done this? Can you recommend a reputable location?

I regret not doing it w/ my son and just found out they let you pay out the 1st year in installments (the place I'm considering costs $1950 the first year and $125/ year after that). Anyhow, now that I know this, I was going to do some more research.

Just looking for others Yahoo users opinions, thanks!

Any hosptial, medical clinic, or hemotology clinic CAN bank it, but, it's more a question of where you are when your baby is born than who CAN. And it's more a question of whether or not they WILL than if they can.

A lot of MDs and clinics and hospitals won't do anything that your insurance won't promise to pay for without express permission and orders from the parent(s) to do it, so you need to remember it when next you find yourself in labor.

Good luck remembering a little detail like that amidst such an important time of your life, though.

My ex wife and I wanted to do it with all three of my daughters, but when they were born, they were each found to have my same blood type, so, as long as I am still around, they know that they have a matching donor available to them.

That's what we were banking it for, was for an emergency transfusion.

I'm not sure if there might not be other viable reasons to do it that we hadn't considered way back when my girls were born.

We did it through Cord Blood Registry. We haven't needed it and hopefully never will but it is a bit of peace of mind. BTW, I researched the providers fairly thouroughly and found CBR to be the most suitable.
