ur looking at it backwards.
if u have immortality whats the value of life?
it never ends. u can count forever... whats the point?
people generally value things that can be lost at any given moment. they dont value the block of steel sitting in their garage, they value the dog who wont be around forever. they value the relationship with their loved ones that will eventually cease as they die.
if i had 24 hours to live, id live it up.
if i knew id live forever, thered be no point to enjoying anything, u can only do something so many times before it gets boring.

I think it's incredibly sad to go through life thinking that it has no value or importance other than getting to some immortal afterlife.
I'd much rather enjoy this life. It's value is loving relationships, children, nature, the arts, literature, helping others, doing good for the sake of doing good - a million things that you apparently are missing while looking forward to something that may not even exist. What a waste.

immortality - does not exist for a human being! or did you mean immorality?
Immortality (or eternal life) is the concept of living for a potentially infinite, or indeterminate, length of time. Throughout history, many humans have had the desire to live forever. What form an unending or indefinitely-long human life would take, or whether it is even possible, has been the subject of much speculation, fantasy, and debate.
Morality / immorality refers to the concept of human ethics which pertains to matters of good and evil — also referred to as "right or wrong" — used within three contexts: individual conscience; systems of principles and judgments — sometimes called moral values —shared within a cultural, religious, secular or philosophical community; and codes of behavior or conduct morality.
Personal morality defines and distinguishes among right and wrong intentions, motivations or actions, as these have been learned, engendered, or otherwise developed within each individual.

Life would indeed be meaningless without immortality, for it is like working all day on your PC without the ability to save what you are doing. So when power goes, everything goes.
There obviously would be no sense to life at all. While some may want to try everything under the sun, others may not see any motivation to try anything at all.

Why wait for immortality? Why don't you just off yourself now?
There is no immortality. One shouldn't gauge the importance of life based on the afterlife. Because there isn't an afterlife, you should take acception to the fact that this is your only chance to live, love and experience as much as you can because there isn't another chance.
To wait until death is only a waste of life.

Life would suddenly become much more valuable.
It would also become much more richer and rewarding I beleive because people would not be so afraid to go after what they really want and try new things because the saying
"you only live once" would take on a whole new meaning.
Good question I must say...
