The other night, my roommate told me that I need to clean off the whole entire toilet seat (top & bottom) every time I use the bathroom. She has her nerve because she thinks she's too cute to have to clean up behind herself. She leaves dirty pots & pans lying around for nights, tracking roaches & mice, & one day she left her dirty panties hanging over the shower curtain rods, & they fell on me while I was taking a shower, & she has NERVE to call me unsanitary. She doesn't pick on the other roommate about cleaning off the toilet after using it. Why does she choose me to pick on?

At first, I thought maybe she had OCD, but if she's that messy herself and doesn't care about what your other roomate does, that makes no sense!

Do you leave the toilet seat dirty? If you truly don't, your roommate picking on you for stuff when she's messy makes me think she's just plain irrational and selfish. It's past time to sit down with your roommates and decide on who does what chores, and when. Try to find out from your other roommate if he/she is annoyed with the pots/pans/panties, too. Some people will simply take crap because they don't want to make waves, and your third roommate may be like this. If they're too immature to do follow through on chores, consider moving out. If you can't for some reason, then suck it up and laugh about it as much as you can. Tell yourself it'll be good practice for some other cruddy situation. Plan for when you can move out, at the end of the semester/lease/whenever. Whatever doesn't kill you...you know!

When i was in college my roommate only believed in natural forms of cleaning, she didn't want to use feminine hygiene products (because it wasn't good for the environment) so during her time of the month she used to leave her unsanitary underwear soaking in the sink of our shared bathroom... UGH.

On to this unreasonable request. I do think it is obnoxious of her to ask you to clean so severely, and i think you should ask her WHY.
Sometimes people do really random things like that when bad things have happened to them (perhaps shes picked up something from someone - or somewhere) during her lifetime. Not that i am saying you have something- but maybe she is just crazy and feels like people need to do that after every time they use the bathroom.

If it bothers you that much tell her that it bothers you and you find it excessive, and that unless she wants to uphold the same rules she imposes on you then she can forget about it!

the moms and dads favor to be extra in touch about her or they'd finally end up regretting their lack of help at the same time as she is lengthy gone. call them decrease back and really rigidity the info, and tell them to upward push up there and observe for themselves how she is performing. Then in the journey that they don't, call a specialist to make sure what you could do to get her help from a warm line or maybe even a psychological agency, because this isn't favourite habit. She needs someone to care and get her help!

Sounds as though you both need to sit down and sort out some common ground rules if you are going to continue to share a home and not start smacking each other.

Why not take the initiative and ask her for a good time to talk things out.

Ah, the joy of roommates. Sweetie, I've been there, done that, bought the t-shirt. I don't know what to tell you to do. Nothing ever worked for me. I'd ask them politely to clean up after themselves...at one point in one apartment I lived in we had a chore list, except I was the only one who did my chores!

Blah! Maybe it's just me, but I think it's common courtesy to pick up after yourself, but your roommate sounds kind of neurotic and weird. lol

Well maybe she does not realize her faults. Sounds like you two need to talk. Make a list of rules for the household to abide by. That is what my roommates and I did to live together comfortably.

When she asks you if you cleaned the seat, simply say yes, what's she going to do, swap it and grow a culture to check? Only clean up anything visible but that's always a good thing to do.

I know it is hard. But you realize that it is her problem. I mean how will she even know if you clean it everytime? I mean it is not like after using the toilet one time it is dirty enough to see.
