I think that instead of using wine for communion they should use Pepsi. I mean think about it, Pepsi is the choice of the next generation.

As an Anglican, I am an adherant of the practices and spirit of the ancient faith, though I am not Roman Catholic. Rome has a real issue with permitting sexual preditors to hide in its midst and now it has exploded. Until the leadership are able to repair the rift, the church should not grow because it cannot guarantee the security and safety of it's youth from men who should not be priests or bishops, for that matter.
The other piece is the devotion of your average person in the pews. Devout Christians of protestant denominations believe your average Catholic to be nominal. I think so many people are born and raised in the church at Rome, that they go through the motions as if it were second nature. Perhaps Confirmation should take place at a much older age than is typical. That sacrament is a good opportunity for people to make a personal committment in response to the Grace bestowed upon them in Holy Baptism.

As a Catholic, I see plenty of people converting to our faith every year. It's spreading itself, in a sense. Many people are curious about Catholicism, and as they read more about it, some feel compelled to join. But one important part of spreading Catholicism would depend upon Catholics behaving in a truly Christian fashion and making others want to follow their good example. This means proselytizing, not by knocking on doors or forcing our views upon people, but rather by living a quiet and meaningful lifestyle that reflects the joy of our faith.

its pretty big as it is, i think everyone knows about it.
the problem is many uneducated and ignorant persons slander it and whatnot.
i guess the best option to be to educate people on what its about, have a meet and greet.
this way you shut up the naysayers, and with the naysayers no longer saying nay catholicism would spread, i guess by spread you mean more people would become catholics.
-edit-
churchmusicgirl is right, there also needs to be better ccd, so that catholics can be more informed and thus answer more questions which leads to a more positive view of catholicism(the view of what actually is done, instead of what you read in a comic book)

I think if Catholics in general were better educated about what Catholicism teaches and WHY those things are held dear, it would make give the world a better view of the religion as a whole. I can't tell you how many times I've had to explain to people things about confession, Mary, Eucharist, the saints, etc. because they had wrong information.

1 - The re-establishment of the Roman Empire
2 - The discovery of documents proving Martin Luther was gay.
3 - Investing the Vatican wealth to help the poor.
4 - Admitting the sordid reasons for including Paul in the New Testament - and then throwing that part out.
5 - Taking on the ignorant trends in Christianity (e.g., "creationism")

The Arabs have thought of the same thing and are already in their Jihad.
Maybe Catholics need to get in power in the U.S. to begin a Holy Nuclear War and overpower the Jihad.
Wait !!, JFK was a catholic and look at what happened to him...

Well, you could go with the old tried and true.. things like the Inquisition and the Crusades worked for the spread of it .. that convert or die mandate was pretty darned effective.
